Uwah, I'm happy with how much I got done today!

The main obstacle in the progress of Lili's costume, the same one that discouraged me from finishing it by JaCon, was the unmanageability of the sleeves. ヽ(ー_ー )ノ For the first try, that took me 3 hours to complete, I used a firm tulle fabric (it's the meshy fabric that goes under the puffy dresses, wedding gowns, etc.). It failed, because the inside was uneven. Then, my mom suggested to get some adhesive interfacing. So I did. And it was INCREDIBLE! *cue the singing angels*

So, I decided to make a list of what's left to do:

~ sew on the frills to the skirt, sleeves, and jacket hem
~ make the broach and sleeve cuffs (sculpy)
~ make the collar + frills
~ clips on gloves
~ clips on boots
~ spray paint the black part of the heels to white
~ attach the red 'socks' to the boots
~ sew/attach weft to the wig's top (I will elaborate on it later)
~ trim the length of the wig
~ spray the wig with an anti-tangle spray
~ dye the checkered fabric to red
~ make the tie and attach frills + broach
~ attach the buttons
~ get pink and black eyeshadow

So! I got the Eureka 7 contact lenses in the mail today! (they aren't exactly "Eureka lenses", they are just the closest I could find for her)

As for Lili, I'm currently working on the frills of the skirt. Will post pics once I'm done ^_^.

So, on Thursday in the afternoon I decided to dump the idea that I could actually finish Lili before JaCon in a sane mind. A little disappointing, though JaCon isn't the biggest anime con in Florida (Metro is).

Florida SuperCon is coming up in only 9 days! I'm excited and nervous. I gotta work hard on Lili's costume to get it done by then! Here are a few pics of the progress:

ONLY 2 DAYS LEFT BEFORE JACON! I'm handling the pressure relatively well right now. Waking up at 2 pm, I've accomplished quite a lot. Hope this time I won't have to be finishing the last bits in the car on the way to the con. XD

I'm going to do a parapara dance for the Japanese Culture Festival in Miami, for which I've been preparing, and which mainly was taking the most of my time away from cosplay progress. It will be on Saturday, and at last, after that I will have 6 days to work on Lili's costume in time for JaCon.
This year marks the 10th and last year for JaCon. ;-; I promised myself sometime in the past that I will have gone to JaCon at least once, despite it's smaller size and dostance of 4 hours away from where I live. But hey, sizee doesn't matter. *wink* I've heard fun things about the con, and can't wait to witness/be part of them this year.
Surely, after the performance, I'll get to uploading all of the progress pics that have collected on my hard drive thus far.

I'm just starting this journal to keep record of my cosplay in progress, among other things Asian-y. Soooo, with that said, I'm planning on posting pics of Lili [Tekken], Eureka [Eureka 7], and Re-L [Ergo Proxy] in the making. Gotta get a more original layout too XO
